Comparative Study of Radiated Emission in Various Microstripline Structures on Printed Circuit Boards
نویسندگان
چکیده
The enormous advancement in science and technology has led to increase in the requirements for high speed data transmission. The increase in the speed of the digital circuits as well as the density of printed circuit board will often result in more challenging signal integrity issues. One of the most important signal integrity issues is radiated emission. We analyzed the radiation in different PCB structures like parallel microstripline, a 90° bend microstripline and serpentine microstripline. The radiation mechanism from various PCB structures is predicted and simulated by using Ansoft HFSS. Simulated results are compared with the existing structures.

This paper provides an investigation of power distribution network (PDN) performance by a full-wave prediction tool and by experimental measurements. A set of six real boards characterized by increasing complexity is considered in order to establish a solid base for behaviour understanding of printed circuit boards. How the growing complexity impacts on the board performance is investigated by ...
متن کاملA Novel Metamaterial Structure to Reduce Far-End Crosstalk in Printed Circuit Boards
Far-End crosstalk is a common problem in a printed circuit boards when two transmission lines are in close proximity. This paper proposes a newly designed method to reduce the far-end crosstalk using metamaterials as a complementary split ring resonator (CSRRs). The CSRRs are etched in the ground plane and are used to control the radiated electromagnetic fileds. Comparative analyses are taken f...

This paper presents, with a solid conclusion, practical, hands-on applied EMC information for engineers that can be put to immediate use without relying on the mathematics of Maxwell's equations. An examination is made to determine if the physical placement of decoupling capacitors makes a significant difference in the development and propagation of radiated emissions from a printed circuit boa...
متن کاملEstimate on the uncertainty of predicting radiated emission from near - field scan caused by insufficient or inaccurate near - field data
Near-field scan on a Huygens’ box can be used in order to predict the maximal radiated emission from a Printed Circuit Board. The significance of step size and phase accuracy, and the importance of a full Huygens’ box are investigated by simulation of two different models with two different numerical methods. The prediction of maximal radiated emission is quite robust but the results also show ...
متن کاملMaximum Radiated Emissions of Printed Circuit Board Using Analytical Methods
Received Jun 12, 2017 Revised Aug 20, 2017 Accepted Oct 26, 2017 The rapid progress of technology has imposed significant challenges on Printed Circuit Boards (PCB) designers. Once of those challenges is to satisfy the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) compliance requirements. For that reason, EMC compliance must be considered earlier at the design stage for time and cost savings. Conventiona...
